Mine cost around £310.00 from memory, not including fitting.
But that was for the Dual mass flywheel, most motor factors won't sell these seperately, because of the flywheels being prone to having movement in them.
When a new clutch is put on, these can fail because of the flywheel and the motor factors won't honour any claims against the clutch.

Dual mass flywheel for £100 or a single mass replacement?

I think the single mass has a greather clamping pressure but is quite noisy?

to be honest i'm not sure, they probably quoted the cheaper option!

to be honest i don't want to fork out a fortune but i also dont want the clutch failing any time in the near future, is it worth getting the fly wheel changed to then?

also do you know what a 'pd' engine is ( i think that's what he said) and how do i know if i have one?

cheers

ok i know a pd engine is a type of vw diesel injector, are there more than one type, apparently these pd engines are more difficult to replace the clutch on...

Had my clutch go a little while ago and had it changed at AmD. For a new helix clutch, single mass flywheel, slave cylinder and I think they may have changed the master cylinder came £1058 and chatter noise you get from the single mass flywheel isn't that loud and the car pulls alot harder all the way through the gears.

adam is that for a performance clutch?

im looking for one seeing as my stage 1 map is causing major clutch slip

wow thats a bit steep for my liking, i've been looking at ebay and they are selling clutch kits + dual mass flywheels from around £150!

really being out of work i can't afford to get the best kit but obviously i don't want the clutch /flywheel to go again for a good while...

cheers, the 2 garages i contacted quoted 5 hours labor costs each! with parts coming to 110 for the clutch, 230 for the dual mass flywheel (not sure about these things as so many complaints about them failing) and 135 for the concentric slave ( this was all quoted before even seeing the car, but it makes sense that all should be changed at the same time) plus the 5 hours which came to 200 and 225 from the 2 garages, totalling around £675.... and i assumed i didn't have a big problem...

Clutch and DMF prices look about right but the Concentric Slave price looks a bit rich, they're £30 for an OEM one at VWspares, £40-50 at Euro Car Parts.

Can't you fit a g60/vr6 combo for less and be rid of the expensive dual mass item? I'm interested to know for the future.
