Hi all, Newbie here. I was hoping to get an idea of what is considered a fair price for a new clutch at an official SEAT service centre.

I have been quoted 630 and it seems a bit steep to me. The car is a 2000 Cordoba (I'm posting here as it seems to be the busiest area and it should be the same clutch anyway!)

Anyone had a clutch change at a SEAt service centre recently?

clutch will be about £100 and i think garages quote 5-6 hours labour......

Thanks. What's the going rate for an hour's labour? About £60-70?

Still sounds like I'm being overcharged.

Book time for a clutch on ibiza cupra is 3.5 hours so i cant see a cordy being much different?

Thats what it was when mine was done just after i got the car

And recently i paid 200 to have a gearbox changed and new clutch put in at same timw

Wasnt a seat dealer but your quote is still really steep imo

In the end I went ahead with it. Got the paperwork and it turned out she was mis-reading. 630 was for a whole bunch of additional work as well as the clutch.

Total cost of just the clutch was more like 450 + VAT. Still not great but not as bad as 630.

erm
they always get stuck on the subframe :) it will take a good 30 mins of wiggling around to get out as i found out lol
but there isnt a massive amount of tips lol just un bolt take off wack new clutch in there check flywheel maybe get that refaced..... wack clutch in and bolt back together lol it might pay to actually remove the whole n/s driveshaft
