how much oil for 1.0

hello,

changing oil and filter for a 1.0 6N2 polo model year 2000, the guy who sold me the filter told me that this engine takes 3.5 litres of oil with filter replacement.

my ibiza 1.3 takes the 4 litres .

any clue ?

fill it with 3.5... start engine, turn off again and use the dip stick to check

I've got the Haynes manual in front of me and all it tells me is engine codes. Some take 3.5, the bigger engines seem to take 4.

Get me the engine code and I'll tell you for sure!

engine code is either ALD or AUC. please advise both.

also please check mine which is 1.3 AAV .

3.5litres in: AER, AAU, AAV, AEX, APQ, ABD, ABU, AEE, AKM
4.0litres in: 2E, AGG, 1F, ABF, AFT

So the 1.0litre and the 1.3 should both take 3.5litres, possibly because they are small engines they need less.

I had an AAV lump in my 2nd car, but mine had single point injection! How's your head gasket?
