how to change fuel filter (diesel)

hi i need to change my fuel filter i was wondering does it need to be bleed if so how do i go about this and does anyone know of a part number for a filter be it genuine or spurious

*** i never knew they did a sdi leon i just tipped the diesel out of the old filter then it cranked about 10 times n fired up, what kind of mpg do u get?

hi thanks for advice ill do that so, on long runs i average 66-68mpg sometimes better its great that way but a dog in every other sense no power loud etc... but it will have to do till i finish college, think the sdi was only available in ireland

hi is it the screw on the side i lossen to take the filter out?

Yeah undo the screw then pull it up and out. Swap the pipes over. You might want to fill the new filter up with fresh diesel, and if you can, clamp the pipes leading in and out of the filter to prevent air in the system
