Fair enough, where can I pick up Brasso from? Halfords? Thanks.

Tesco's and the like in a small bottle tin. Its for cleaning tarnished metal, good stuff to have around. Takes scratches out of plastics very well but be careful with paint or you will be through to the primer.

get some autosmart tardis to remove the residue, or even use acetone based nail polish remover.
