Mostly based on this thread have ordered the following from AUTOPIA, cant wait to get all the stuff

Porter Cable 7424 Polisher
Sonus Dual-Action System Foam Pads: Sonus DAS Pad
Kit
Sonus SFX-2 Enhance Swirl Remover
Foam Pads: Sonus DAS Buffing Bonnet, Pkg/2
Foam Pads: Sonus DAS Blue Foam Pad
P21S Carnauba Wax
Klasse ALL-IN-ONE
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
Sonus Der Wunder Buffing Towel, Pkg/2
Meguiars Water Magnet Drying Towel
Sonus Der Wunder Mitt

Total came to £206.84 when converted to £ (that's including shipping)

Not bad considering I found the Porter Cable 7424 Polisher on a UK site here http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/index.html for £229.99 it does include the transformer which I'll have to buy but for a similar price even when I bought the transformer I got all that extra stuff.

There is some good stuff/offers on that site.

Got some more stuff from Alex:

I was posting this image up showing the new blanking plate after removing my rear wiper (rear end looks SO clean now), then I realised how good the hatch looked - lol!

Think I had an addiction to car valeting equipment and products over this last week must have ordered £300 pounds worth aargh, lets hope its worth it maybe have to valet some mates cars to get the cash back.

With all the stuff I have purchased from autopia and serious performace is this a good order to do the body work in?

1 - Wash car (2 bucket method) I have Meguiars NXT wash
2 - Use Clay Bar over car with my Clearkote Quik Shine
3 - Use Sonus Sfx-2 with the pc then buff
4 - Use Klasse AIO with the pc then buff
5 - Use Klasse High Gloss and Sealant Glaze with pc buffer

Possibly then finish off with the P21s wax dunno whether that would be needed or not?

Nice pic Rob, whats the reason for not wanting a rear wiper?

We should stop this thread and us with a PC should charge other SCN members to get there cars spotless like ours! Make some of our money back!

Wow !!!!!! :headhurt: what a thread. I just don`t know where to start :)

I`m a car cleaning "virgin", a nice metalic black 02 LC with all the usual swirl marks.

All i really do at the moment is twice a year give it the autoglym treatment, using orbital polisher from woolworths :( , and then normal washing every other week using that self drying thing from ( the name escapes me ).

Now i`ve seen all your pictures i`m jealous, however as a "newbie" have no idea where to go/ to start.

Don`t really think i`d be happy to spend 200 just yet on a cleaner ( although maybe in the future) but happy to "shell out" for quality products that make a difference

Any help is appreciated and thanks for reading :)

Russ

Best thing to do is to get some quality microfibre cloths, applicators and a good cleaner wax, there are quite a few out there that will remove swirl marks and wax the paint too. For a pure beginner, why not try the following product, sounds a great all-rounder:

Poorboy's polish with carnuba £10.49. It is described as the following:

"Easy on/easy off, sun or shade, has the right amount of cleaners and protectants to leave an easy-to-maintain vehicle. Even though today's clearcoats are great protectors of the paint beneath them, most people do not have the time or experience to properly maintain them. To keep that "new look" you must polish the vehicle's surface to regain a silky-smooth finish. This process will remove contaminates, surface dirt, some fine surface scratches, bird droppings, and water stains (acid rain).

Easy on, easy off application
Non abrasive
100% Carnauba
UV protectant
Great on all paints, clearcoats, chrome, plastic and hard rubber
Use in sun or shade
Removes oxidation, haze, fine scratches, swirl marks, sap, tar, bugs, overspray, old products, bird droppings, water stains, and more!
Virtually eliminates water spotting
No pre-cleaners necessary"

Get some Meguiars sponge applicators and a 3-pack of their plush microfibre towels and you're good to go.

thats more or less what i stared off with. Dont use the pray tyre dress anymore as it makes the alloys prone to dirt. And i use the NXT wash as it smells nicer!
