You can try a tar remover, Autoglym do one which you can pick up in Halfords. Poorboys do a bug & tar remover which I've found is good ...both of these are spray on/wipe off. You can also use a clay bar.

Autosmart Tardis is the business but tough on your nostrils. Valet Pro Tar and Glue remover is also top dog. Autoglym Tar remover is abit weak but is usable and easily available.

I'd try to remove most with a tar remover first as clay can scratch if big bits of tar are being removed.

just dont leave tardis on the paint for more than you need to... as soon as you see the tar breaking down get it off... you'll also need to lay some protection back down on the paint as the tardis and clay for that matter will strip everything off.

clay will remove tar but if there is a lot then you are going to wreck the clay bar quickly and need to use more than you would normally.

with high volumes of tar it is easier to use a tar remover first and then follow up with clay.

both products are going to strip back any wax or sealant so you will need to replace those as well.
