Hi all
All new cars built after July this year now have driver speed assist, which is really annoying as if you go over the speed that’s displayed on the instrument cluster the car pings all the time and flashes the speed indicator. How do you turn it off on the new formentor?

not permanently at all, according to my information at the moment. For everything else, read the instructions 😉

Every time you switch car on it needs to be turned off again, but that’s all cars built after July this year.
the sales advisor did not show me to turn it off,

Vehicle > assist systems > driver alerts > dynamic road sign display
This is for older formentor.

I just noticed that OBD eleven has an app for turning the speed assist to memory for the face lift 24> on formentor
so that the car will remember if you turned it off.
has anybody tryd this yet

I'm assuming that the current Formentor is the same as the Leon - pull down from the top of the infotainment screen and it should be there, as well as the lane assist one. If not, you should be able to add it. Otherwise one of the steering wheel buttons (can't remember which one, but it's on the left) gives you a menu, but I find the screen easier.

How do you tell if your car is SFD2? According to the ODB11 site the current unit doesn't work on SFD2 - so how do you tell? Don't want to drop money on this to turn it off and it not be able to do anything.

I have just found out that my series one life time OBD eleven dongle is not compatible with the latest 25 onwards cupra so I have bought the latest version 3 with the 20% discount, so when its delivered I will report back to see if it works.
The app uses 200 credits to work but as I have nearly 5000 ( I have seen a load of clips over the years to build it up) shame they don't put that back:ROFLMAO:
so I'm just waiting for my delivery
cheers

OBDeleven can't support coding of SFD2 protected control units currently. Hopefully it will scan.

Hi all sorry for the late reply, just to update you with turning off permanently the speed assist using OBD Eleven
THIS DOES WORK

You will need to do the following
You will need the latest OBD dongle which has just come out, which is version 3.
My version 2 did not even find the car?

Then you will have to get through the 2 part verification, and you will need a google Authenticator app to generate a code to do so.
after this you will have to update your OBD account and then you can start the OBD app again press connect and again it will not find your car
but you can put in your VIN number and then it will find your car.
press connect as normal and go to apps you will find the app at the bottom please look at photo below.
it 200 credits and you will need to turn off the ignition and then turn it back on and then open the bonnet.
the app first time said not supported if this happens try turning off the ingnition and opening the bonnet again
this worked for me.
there will be a warning that the SOS will not work this is normal.

I have try it and it does work and even better in my plug in the annoying brake system, for example when you go from a 40 to 30 the car if you are costing will slow it self down this has now gone and is back as normal car.
this is the car I thought it was bought but after you put some miles on you find out these things.

warning if you do try this it is at your own peril.

cheers jools
