Need some advice on a hybrid. Everything on Google is usually mk4 forums and it's all 10 years old. I'm looking for 280-300hp. The limits of my stock 2.75" maf is around 280hp. I have full stage 2 supporting mods and plan on upgrading to bam injectors. My first thought was turborebuild. They advertise their hybrid as 280 and it's around £650. Found a supplier for a BBT300 for around £825. Then I went on ebay before and these 2 turbos seem to have come out of nowhere. There's an F21T for £350 advertising up to 300 and a JRSpec for £600 also advertising 300. Besides the bbt300 which is said to use rs6 internals. The rest are based on the k04-064 which I believe is the 2.0 tfsi spec? I'm so confused????

I'm curious as to what rhe reasoning is behind going with a hybrid turbo just to reach 280-300bhp when a stock K04 can make those figures although admittedly nearer to it's limit?

Because I already have a 3" downpipe and a front mount. And by the time I spend on a downpipe adapter, manifold, turbo, feed and return lines and then have to adapt intercooler piping and get another silicone tip which would also involve upgrading to the 80mm maf housing and the re-scaling the maf in the ecu. It would be cheaper and easier to get a k03 hybrid and bam injectors.

I have a 180 auq with the k03s turbo. I'm assuming you think I have a bam with a k04. Sorry for the confusion. I though the fact I said I have a 2.75" maf and want to upgrade to bam injectors and posted names of k03 hybrids that it would be apparent.

I'm just confused because there is no information out there from this decade. My k03s turbo and auq injectors are supposed to max out at 240 bhp with supporting mods, although some claim they can make up to 260 which is doubtful. They do a plug and play billet core for my k03s which is rated to 260, which makes sense as it's a modern billet design with better flow characteristics. What I don't get is why a k03 hybrid with modern billet k04 internals are only rated to 260, when it's milled out and is essentially an upgraded k04, which as you say is supposed to be good for 300 bhp. Then there's all this talk of bbt280' and bbt300's which are supposed to have k04-064 and rs6 internals. Why are the figures so low? Surely k04-064 varient k03 hybrids should be good for well over 300?
