Also, I drive my car regularly, if I do happen to need to adjust the temperature at night because it has reset itself to 22 which it does on a lot of startups, I remember where the slider is. I don't need no stinking backlight to tell me. It doesn't randomly move to somewhere else on the dashboard.

It might be a problem the first couple of times you drive the car, but us humans are supposed to be intelligent. We remember how to do repetitive tasks. Perhaps some of us are not as good at them as others!
