Guys,

just bought a mk2 leon a month ago, and its since developed a whistling noise which turns out its the turbo, vnt vanes and wastegate,

so im thinking of getting a new turbo, hybrid of course

what else will i need, intercooler, pipes, remap etc

what sort of power gains can i get etc etc

What will the standard clutch hold?

Cheers in advance for any info

PD140 Follows the standard tuning set up of the previous PD130,PD150 and PD160

Basically with a Hybrid you would be best updating your standard FMIC with an Audi S3 intercooler, Uprated Injectors and Uprated Clutch and Flywheel would also offer benefits, You will certainly need new mapping! Exhaust System and Downpipe and also a EGR delete are also other options

Also dont overlook stopping power, 312mm brakes from a FR would be easiest upgrade or Cupra 345mm ones

Andrew, not wanting to doubt what you've said but I've been informed that the PD140 I/C and injectors are is ok even for a stage 2 hybrid. The clutch/flywheel, exhaust/downpipe will need replacing though.

Yeh they probably are mate tbh just if you have got the extra cash then might aswell spend it all at once, Higher flowing injectors are always good with a Hybrid Turbo

If it was me though i would get a Garrett 2260VK, youl waste money on a hybrid then a few months later will want more power

had a look at that Garrett 2260vk, 700 new on ebay, is there any reason you would particularly pick that one?

not sure if i wanna go down this route just so soon, i may end up buyin the turbo and upgrading IC etc next year.. bloody expensive lol

put it this way Hybrid on a PD140 will get you to about 240 with the right other mod's

That turbo is 300+ few mates not have them on PD130 Engine and are aiming for well over 300 with some internal modifications to the engine etc

Darkside Developments sell it as a complete kit with the Manifolds and downpipes etc

oh really, will have a look into it.

is the standard turbo taken out easily enough? im considering taking it off and cleaning it myself

Not sure tbh i dont think its easy though, its at back of engine between Firewall and engine
