i have a fault..any ideas?

I have a fault, when i open the drivers door the interior light doesnt come on (it does with boot and passenger door) also my "lights on" warning noise doesnt come on if i leave my headlights on and open the door! And if i unlock the car and jump in it lock itself again as it thinks no1 has got in the car (which could be annoying if your in a quiet spot and drop your keys outside the car before you get in) Any ideas? cant b bothered with a trip to the dealers next week as ive got too much on! can any1 help?

sound like your door is not recognised when closed or opened on the hinged side cheak there should be a switch which pushes in and out when u close and open the door it might be this goin to go cheak now to make sure

ive just looked and i cant see a switch of any description anywhere around the door

sorry just cheaked dont see a switch was thinkin of my old car must be done through the lock or somethin sounds like the dealers will need a call
