As per title i keep experiencing connection problems when trying to use my I-phone with my cars USB/AUX connection. I normally just use a 5th gen ipod Nano with the system (connected via the £10 Ebay sourced lead) in the car instead of CD's etc, and generally this is VERY reliable too with only VERY occasional (happened at most twice since i had it) loss of connection, But generally it's trouble free! However - when i come to swap out the Ipod for my Iphone (say when i want to use the NAV or just listen to different songs) i keep getting apparent loss of connection - is this a common thing? (it's an Iphone 4 btw) or is it likely down to my cheapy lead, or an issue with the USB/AUX ports on the car!??

If i pull the USB lead out and then re-connect it, It's Ok again for however long until something (maybe driving over a pothole or somet daft like that!) causes the connection to drop out and the radio/CD player displays the "MEDIA IN INITIALIZING" screen until you pull the connection and re-insert it again!! gets VERY annoying - and happens a lot when trying to use my phone (pretty sure it's NOT the connection on the phone too as it never fails to connect using the proper USB lead when charging/syncing it with Itunes!!

If it's just an issue with the cheapy lead, and it just means i need to buy the proper SEAT one then so be it, but it doesn't explain WHY my Ipod is generally Ok!??

Anyone else get this kinda problems!???

My cars got the boggo Radio/CD headunit job btw - not sure what type, but it's not the nav job!!

I have the same problem if I switch off the music app on the iPhone, i.e If I try to use an app on it.

I have a eBay lead too and I have a similar issue but its when my Bluetooth is switched on but I do have the Satnav 2.2, it's rather frustrating.

Not sure but the iPhone picks up the lead connection as idock connection but if I have bluetooth switched on the phone picks Bluetooth as default and nothing comes through the speakers till I select idock.

Just checked and i haven't got bluetooth turned on!

May have to try using my phone - just as an Ipod and nothing else - se if that works, but i "think" i've already tried it and it still faults!

It deffo acts up though if i'm using the Nav app (which plays music when the voice isn't needed!), Pretty sure it goes wrong on just music too but i do need to check to be certain!

I have similar issues on my 2nd lead and still get same issues, also poor sound quality just like the speaker has blown , only does it in my f/l cupra , use my I phone 4 and cable in my van n no issues . Play a cd and all is good , can only think its something to do with the seat connection ?

I have a fully working lead if anyone wants it.
I bought the cup holder cradle ... was smashine the cases i had like there was no tomomorrow!!
