Heated steering wheel too. Had it in a rental Vauxhall Mokka I had early this year and although most of the car was fairly naff, the heated wheel was glorious!

I heard, somewhere, a looong time ago, that Ford had a patent on the heated windscreen, and licensed the tech to other manufacturers for a royalty fee. Perhaps that's why it's not an option on the Leon? Dunno if that's even true, mind.

My old Mazda 3 had a heated screen, would deffo have gone for one in the Leon had it been available. Ateca has one.

As for misting up... stop breathing for a few mins after setting off :)

Henry Ford did have a patent on the tech originally but there are a lot of online sources that suggest that the patent already expired.

In any case VW already have another piece of tech to achieve the same goal. The climate screen. It's an embedded conductive layer of silver in the windshield glass.

It's said to be better as there aren't any visible wires, so won't dazzle in sunlight.

I think you can also get this as an option on the Golf R. Just a shame the Cupra doesn't have it as an option yet.

Truth be told though there are lots options I wish you could spec on the Cupra like heated steering wheel, puddle lights and electrically adjustable seats to name a few.

Not a problem for me to stop breathing but try telling the other half , don't know if it's linked but it's worse when she's in the car but on the other side I get her to blow on it and it clears quicker than any heated window screen :-o

Take a look at this for icy windscreens. Believe me it works. Yesterday my car was next to two neighbouring cars, theirs were frozen solid, mine wasn't and one sweep of the wipers and it was clear. Inside the demisting with aircon worked a treat.

Yes looks the dogs knackers would be good to know what he's using and how long it lasts, will have to look if anyone does it around here.

Just put some cover on the windshield and in the morning no problem with cleaning.
