I was going to state the mileage covered on those 53.99 litres but the figures are on my desk at work. Yes I know the amount in the tank does not affect the consumption what I was trying to explain was that is was full tank to full tank so I know this is an accurate amount of fuel rather than using the fuel computer.
The car I have just parted with was a 2.0 TDi Passat, I covered 53000 miles in 21 months the overall consumption was 50.5mpg! the official combined figure being 50.4mpg
My previous car a Fiesta 1.6TDCi the official figure was 64.7mpg over the 24 months and 57000 mile the overall consumption was 65+mpg. Previous to that was a Picasso 2.0 HDi official combined figure 50.6mpg, 4 years and 111000 miles 51 MPG
So with the mileage I do and my style of driving I know the combined figure is achievable so I am expecting to be very close to the official 65mpg but unfortunately I'm nowhere near it and reading this thread, I'm not the only one!!!
