Hi

Both my front and rear discs and pads have had it and need replacing.

Has anybody got the part numbers for these and details of the best/cheapest place to get them from?

OEM ones or aftermarket would be fine. Has anybody done a brake upgrade and if so what are the cost implications vs performance?

Thanks in advance for your help !!!

Cheers
Jonathan

Yeah was gonna suggest maybe upgrading to the TT 312 setup. Very very worth wile mod, and probably the best pound for pound that i have done.

Yup totally agree with the 312mm upgrade, dont really see the point of keeping standard when an excellent upgrade is so cheap (ok so not as cheap as replacing the std disks and pads)

Bought my from Golfturbo £240 + £40 delivery and awsome stopping power

If you are considering any power upgrades (remap etc) upgrade your brakes now, can get a little hairy otherwise !!

If not, just keep with factory pads and disks, nothing wrong with them until they are pushed.

Definately gonna look at the 312mm TT brakes for my car - especially as they'll fit (just) with the standard 16" FR wheels.

Would like the Cupra AP brakes, but don't want to have to buy new wheels....

ok,
i'm confused?
just looking at new front pads for my TDI 130 SPORT oct 2002
apparently there were two diff types of caliper fitted for my car (and of course 2 diff size pads)

is there any way of finding out which one is fitted on my car without stripping it down first?

yes, mine is a mk4, one of the first batch in fact, had to wait 16 weeks for her lol
so are you saying then that there is only one type of pad for the mk4?

ok,
just to clear this up...........
the front brake pads for a late 2002 ibiza TDI 130 are the W:131.4, H:62, TH:18.8 ones.

NOT the W:146, H:54.7, TH:19.7 ones.
i'm guessing these must be for the cupra?, even though everyone is listing them for the TDI 130 as well as the correct sized ones! [:@]

i ended up getting them direct from seat, because i got fed up with various motor factors not having a clue which pad i needed !

My advice to anyone trying to work out which brake discs and pads are correct for their car is, first get a print out of your "car data" from your dealer's parts department, then get on the web and visit the site of the manufacturer that supplied your pads to Seat at the factory - namely Pagid for front ones and Textar for rear ones (both TMD Friction companies) as they will certainly have the correct information and from that you can find all you will ever need to know about the pads, for discs, I would use the ATE site along with the "car data" PR code. As an aside, it was on the ATE site that I discovered that ECP do not and have never sold the correct ATE pads for the B5 Passat, they only sell the ones for A4 & A6 & Japan market B5 Passat - strange that!! When I next changed my front pads, I did compare the Pagid ones I bought with the originals and they were spot on, but the ATE ones I removed had been wrong - extra metal on the backing plate which could in the odd circumstance probably cause a foul condition!!
