Ibiza AUD engine info needed!

Hello all, can anyone inform me that if the 1.4 mpi AUD engine is belt or chain driven? having a few temperature issues, bit erratic and strange really.....

heats to 90degrees and then after about 10 mins or increased speed the gauge will rise, but occasionally will drop right back down to 60, i had a similar prob on a leon cupra that turned out to be the coolant temp sensor, could this be the same? are they as prone to failing as the leons? ive got a thermostat to fit and it also seems as if expansion tank is slightly cracked so that will be done asap,

lad that i bought it off was told the waterpump on it may of failed? is this likely and thats mainly why i asked if its chain or belt driven as i know the chain driven ones have a auxillary belt driven water pump on them,

I'm pretty sure its belt but why not just pop the cam cover off and have a look? check the oil and make sure there's no creamy crap in there. Also the thermostats are prone to fail on these for some reason so see how you get on.

Waterpumps are also prone so best to replace it as well if you don't know when it was last done

So prob best to just revamp the whole cooling system? new thermostat, new waterpump, new temp sensor and might as well do belt at same time if it is indeed belt driven, just got me thinkin cos my mum has a 2001 fabia 1.4 mpi and thats chain driven

what years your ibiza? I'll check ETKA. I thought all the AU series engines were belt but now you've made me doubt myself
