The gearbox is totally fine then :)

I didnt change the clutch when i changed the box, could this be why? I felt it slip earlier pulling away in second? Also will the tightness of the clutch cable affect it?

Nope, the clutch cable shouldn't be tight when it's "off" if that makes sense.

Slipping in 2nd? Did you grease up the mechanism inside the 'box for the clutch? It could be sticking.

Ah my clutch cable is tight, will loosen that off then, I changed the clutch release bearing but didnt grease it, is this what you mean?

Right, found out that it is the right box, I had the linkage set up wrong (it was only going into third, fourth and fifth) :) but now I try put the box into first physically with the rod thats on the gearbox and it just won't go in. Any ideas?

thats a point... would bigger wheels make a difference to the gear ratios? i used to have the standard 13" alloys 165/70/13 (iirc) but now i have 16" ronal multispokes 195/45/16
