hi i just bought a mk3 ibiza cubra 1.8t and im not sure if its boosting properly whats the standard boost pressure on these cars?

my car is only boosting at 0.4 bar the car seems to have decent vaccum pressure at idle so i dont think its a boost leak and it seems to drive fine no spluttering.

its got some crappy dump valve thing fitted could this be causing low boost? its also got the abs light on and traction controll light comes on once i start driving does this put the car in limp home mode and cut boost there are no engine warning lights on the dash just the abs and traction

and the passenger electric window doesent work is this easy to fix or :censored:

My ABS and TCS light are on aswell, because the air flow meter is dead.
Have you tried unplugging the maf and seeing if it gets any better?
Your best bets getting it plugged into vagcom though mate

Will.

just noticed my cars outside temperature sensor is rimmed it was sayijng it was -30 lol.

now i know colder temperatures usually increase boost. would the ecu be cutting the boost level slightly to compensate for the cold weather?

its running about 4- 4.5bar 6,5psi the car drives well no sluttering good vaccum at idle no engine warning lights and doesent feel that slow it kept up with a mini coopers s no problem

have you taken the n75 vave off and put it back on mixing the pipes up ?

i just bought the car a couple of days ago. where is? and what is the n75 valve? there is some crap dump valve thing fitted i would like to put it back to standard

i'd say first take the dump valve off and fit new oem one or forge 007p recirc valve , 1.8t vag engine generally don't like BOV but the are people on here that will say other wise,, and the n75 valve is t shape valve to right side of where the oem dv should be it controls the boost pressure

had a good look in the engine bay today my first day off work. on top of the cylinder head next to the 3rd coilpack there are 2 things solenoids? with pipes coming out of them but one farthest to the right has the pipes disconected.

the thing i thought was a dump valve thing is actual the standard recirc valve with some red silicon pipes it looks like some pipes have been rearanged.

i had a look at the wastegate and someone has definetally been fidling with it one off the nuts for adjusting it is nearly rounded off and its nearly adjusted as far as it can go in one direction. im going to try adjusting it tomorrow to see if it raises the boost whats a safe boost level for a standard cupra?

i just had a look at a few pictures of wastgates and it looks mine has been wound right in the wastegate arm is really short and theres a shitload of thread so it should be boosting like mad.

is the n75 the boost controller should i try replacing it?. i was thinking of puting the wastgate arm back to a sensible lenght blocking of the pipe on the n75 that returns to the inlet manifold and puting a manual boost controller between the other 2 pipes ive got one sitting in the house would this work?

problem sorted the previous owner who did the n249 bypass used pipes that were far to big and were on about as tight as a 90year prostitute

im now getting 0.5 in second and 0.6 bar in third gear i might adjust the turbo actuator again and try and get 0.7 bar would this be okay on a standard engine?

You can try and play with the actuator, but u cant get much more boost nor damage your engine cuz boost is electronically controled. If you wound actuator too much u will just end up in limp mode.
