hey!

i thought buying a cupra would quench my thirst for speed but after only a couple of months i am used to it and want it to be faster...

people have told me to de-cat and get a map which will boost the cars perfermance to around 200bhp but before doing that i want to explore other aspects of mods to get the best out my custom map.

can anyone give me tips on other mods i can do to my car to get the best out of it, my friend has just bout a astra vxr and want my cupra to compete with it......if possible!

cheers for viewing

Whiteline Rarb
20mm rear spacers
Coilovers
Decent pads and discs
Stage one remap

Think you will struggle to live with a half decently driven Astra VXR though. Only seen one in action, wet track day i was at. Looked a tricky car to drive fast, especially in the wet.

Agreed. You'll get loads of people telling you that you will be as quick as a vxr, but in reality, you won't.

Hybrid power is a different matter, but then what happens when your mate plays with his vxr ;)

If he tuned up his VXR power wise i imagine one or two outcomes

1. The gearbox eats itself

2. He understeers into oblivion.

Lest we forget the Ironic crash of this Nurburgring Astra VXR at the Nurburgring. If only Vauxhall had actually fitted something useful to the car like an LSD.. instead of fancy stickers

Cheers for confirmin wat I already thought. My only hope is that while stoppin for petrol my diesel will keep truckin lol

Going to look into a hybrid turbo so wat crack is, see if the gained power over rides the cost, coil overs where are live are harsh the council spends maybe 36p a year maintaining roads :(

Whiteline front arb is awesome rear is very good too both together make mine handle like a go kart the standard shocks are quite bad very harsh they get worse when lowerd coilie's are my next mod for definate.Hybrid turbo's are definately worth it im running the turbo dynamics stage 2 with turbo back milteck allard egr delete and pipercross panel filter.Im still getting good mpg with lots of power and tourqe the turbo fitting and mapping came in at just shy of £1800 which i thought was a very good price.
