Ibiza Cupra R ecu ?

Will an Ibiza Cupra R ecu plug straight into a Cupra and run at 180 bhp without any problems?
From the bits Ive read on here I suspect it will but can someone confirm?

iirc you just need to change the immobiliser code in vagcom and set it for your car instead, theirs a sticky in the vagcom section on how to do it

What Smithy said , dont expect it to be that much faster tho. Next step is to save up for a remap then you will notice a differance!!

Wouldn't it be a waste of money buying the Cupra R ECU if it's going to get remapped? Surely by mapping it, it's only going to acheive the same BHP as a standard ECU or am i being stupid?

yea lol save yur cash and just buy a remap. youll get the same gains from a remapped cupra r chip as you will with a standard cupra chip so dont waste yur money mate unless u aint gonna remap it

No, your 100% correct, but its a short term mod for abit of extra speed if thats the route he wanted to go! personally id save for the re-map and leave the ecu alone. could also be faulty?

i guess i wasn't the only 1 who spotted the ecu then i thought about it too but then i thought about getting a remap and there isn't any point really

Just save for the re-map fella! Cupra R ecu = 180bhp/177lbs/ft, My re-map returned 196bhp (not set up) and 230lbs/ft and thats without the tip and cooler, that 60lbs/ft torque makes one hell of a differance!.

my mate has a cupra with revo stage 1 and my cupra r is every bit as fast if not maybe that wee bit quicker and the cupra r map is deffo smoother than the revo so if your going for a remap get an arp or equivelant

cant see that to be honest, A revo map should produce more bhp and torque figures, so either his car is slightly unwell or your has been played with previous.

what made you come to that conclusion? Its proberly the most used re-map on this site, it has excellent feed back and the customer service is 2nd to none, When i had mine installed Revo Kev was there and he even took me out logging and set the car up accordingly with no extra charge! Have you had privious bad experiances with revo?
