Ibiza FR 1.9 TDI, Oil Leak ??

Hi,

Got my car a few weeks ago now. About 3 or 4 days ago i noticed oil next to the oil cap and the engine cover. I soaked it up best i could with kitchen paper.

Today i looked again and the oil is back any reason for this or is it something serious ??

sure your oil cap is fully clicked on

odd, sounds like the blow back which should be going up through the crank case ventilation not out of the filler cap, like ant says is it properly located? sounds like its not sealing right.

If i see it again i will get a new cap..

I had a similar problem once.

You'll find that the cap actually screws into an extension tube, this itself screws into the cam cover in a similar manner. The ham-fisted mechanics at the dealers managed to break one of the clips at the bottom of the tube, so it didn't locate properly. However, because it was kind of held in place by the engine cover, I didn't notice for a while, was only when I took the engine cover off I noticed the tube wobbled a bit...
