aye that was the ones i meant, sorry, should have made it clearer!

haha i bought my bocanegra without knowing anything about the oil consumption. 3 weeks after buying it i had to put over 3 litres in it lol!

to be fair even if i had known about the problems i think i still would have bought it aha

Yeah but yours is a BOC, I went for the measly FR ;) ......... . TBF .... even with my power steering fails and almost causing 2 accidents, and also that annoying rattle I have from behind the dash somewhere (which is driving me bloody mad [:@]:wtf:) ......... I still really like the car. There is just something likable about it.

Its as if its not trying to be something its not, if you get me. I mean the Corsa VXR has the full Recaro CS seats, chunky steering wheel, big wheels flash bodykit with vents here there and everywhere, yet its actually not really as fast as all its shouting says. Whereas the FR , Cupra and even the BOC in standard guise, just isn't shouting to everyone "look at me I think I am a hot hatch, but acrtually I am not" like the VXR and Clio RS do.

i know what you mean mate, they're understated and much more subtle than their competitors. but you find that with most VAG cars, the S3 for example. to me they are much more refined to drive as well, whereas the corsa etc are a bit too teenagerish for my liking (god i sound old, i'm only 20 haha) i've always liked the simple design of VAG cars, it means they don't age as quickly as other models in my opinion. i still think the mk4 golf is a good looking car, 15 years after it first came about haha.

to me my bocanegra has just the right amount of presence to suggest its not a normal ibiza, but isn't too ostentatious! :)

Yes and again I agree. :)

But here's the bad bit, ........ I test drove a Megane RS250 a few years back, and even to this day I can't get the experience out of my head !!! What a piece of kit ....... doesn't shout too much, isn't too expensive to run (actually better MPG than the Clio RS in normal driving). Hence why I am on the search for one with the optional recaros and 2nd hand, but can't find any :( :wtf:

great response ^^

i too test drove 3 clio 200s before buying my bocanegra. loved the way they drove, so planted on the road and you can really feel the road through the wheel. good spec as well with the recaros, brembos, keyless entry and push button start. but the interior....meh, its so plasticy and really isn't a nice place to sit in. i agree that they deserve all the praise they get for being a true drivers car, but i feel it would cost too much to run in day to day life. i've also heard absolute horror stories about there gearboxes failing after 10,000 miles or so!

the polo gti was far too plain for my liking, you get little 1.2s that look exactly the same as them. i'm also not a fan of the tartan interior, the ibiza is much better style wise.

i fancied a corsa VXR for ages, but you see FAR too many of them floating about. and i agree that those arctic edition ones are everywhere lol! falkirks flooded with them, they are good value at only £12000 with 0% interest mind you. i've had a shot of one and liked it, but its a bit unrefined and too chavvy for me.

if i had waited on the new st then it possibly could have been a contender. i really like the grill on the new fiesta.

i'm quite excited to see what the new RS clio is like, meant to be a 1.6 turbo with a dsg box! only available in 5 door though apparently which puts me off.

to me the mk5 ibiza is one of the most attractive cars you can buy today, and now that i have my bocanegra i wouldn't change it for anything else! best looking hatchback you can buy in my opinion, and i love the way it drives. im not a fan of the electric steering i must say, but as a daily driver i find it to be the perfect mixture of fun and economy. don't feel anything else can match the cupra's or bocanegras in speed off the line for the same price.

^^ 100% agree!

Although I have only just recently learnt to drive and only just got my first car I wouldn't swap it for the world. I learnt in a corsa and I just felt the interior, especially on the cheaper models, was tacky and not very well put together, but on my facelift seat ibiza 1.2SC E, which is the cheapest one, the interior feels very well put together and looks great in my opinion.

Also with the driving, on the cheaper corsa's the steering feels rather heavy, the comfort of the ride wasn't all that great, and just in general it didn't feel that comfortable to drive. However on my seat ibiza, the steering is nice and light and the ride is comfortable.

I wouldn't swap my ibiza for any other car of the same sorta size. It feels great, it looks great and it is just overall a great car in my opinion. :)

haha i will always have a soft spot for renaults! first car being a clio and all! :) i never even thought about a megane rs when i was searching for a new car! they look stunning as well. i know what you mean about trying to find one with the recaros, when i was looking for a clio 200 they were like hen's teeth! some of the nicest seats i've seen in a car though :)
