Ibiza no power

Hi all
My brother has bought a 2002 Ibiza 1.2s and the engine management light has come on and the car has lost power. What could the problem be?

could be many things tbh, maybe get somebody to read the codes from the ecu and that should tell you the problem. However, i do know that the coil packs are quite common to fail on the 1.2 engines, but the signs of this are that the engine runs very rough as it is only running on 3 cylinders. Hope this helps

+1 for coil pack, VERY common. Seems like every other week someone has this issue!
