Ive driven a 1.2 Corsa, it has got an extra cylinder over the SEAT 1.2. They arent meant to be fast, thats the point of it, to keep emissions down for cheaper road tax, better fuel economy, low insurance. However, the SEAT is also fun to drive.

Its just the rest of the Corsa, from its build quality, electrical reliablity to its numb handling and iffy gearchange which just arent built to last. The engine wasnt as much fun aswell, the last 2000 revs, the engine makes noise without doing anything.

nowhere near as nippy as a 1.2 Twinport corsa, my brother has an 06 one from work at the moment and really is little belter for what it is, the 1.2 ibiza is not even in the same league

When i twated my ibiza i had a 1.2 micra (dont laugh)

80bhp weighs under a tonne and revs to 7200. i thought it was great fun

0-60 in around 12 secs rather than the 15 odd seconds in the ibiza.

Nail on the head i reckon.

Yes the 1.2 ibiza isnt the fastiest road going performance car... that was a shock!

The handling was great, it felt stable and the revs werent meaningless even at high rpm! Ive drivin both a 1.2 Corsa Twinport and the 1.2 12V Ibiza, in a straight line the Corsa would win, but the ibiza would kill it round twisties etc.

Of course, the Corsa 1.2 Twinport would kill a std Ibiza FR TDi in a straight line, aslong as it had its backseats down, was waxed, had £3.28 of fuel and the guy driving had shaven his privates for weight reduction.

Point made :D

hey i'm not bigging up the Corsa, but over the last 3 yrs my younger brother has had 8 of the buggers, ranging from 4 1.2's a 1.2 Twin port, a 1.8 SRi, a 1.0 12v, and a 1.4.

But even he was shocked at the new one he picked up the other week, it was brand new and when he picked me up from the station one night it just really shocked me it was a 1.2.

He has them as company cars and drives em all day every day, under no illusions thats its an FR bater or anything,

But if anyone with a 1.2 ibiza wants to compare in the kent area then bring it on,

as for the Fabia comment, well dis the ibiza all you want, and enjoy your 1.2 fabia, but we won't mock you if you want to swap back to an ibiza in 3 months time when you are choking on your own words:lol: and sick f getting biddies waving at you in other fabias
