Looking for pictures of ice silver mk3's. Preferably modified. Looked through 75 pages of the picture gallery here and hardly any examples on here.... are they that rare? Thanks

They are quite rare, you don't see many silver ones. The colour has kinda had its day. Not very popular now.

I think that can be said for any colojr really, they come and go in trends. 20 years ago white was snoffed at but everywhere now and i think black cars are less popular (stunning when clean but a pig to keep clean). I like not popular, hate the thought of being a sheep with a common coloured car.

Anyone got any pics of their ice silver leons? Cheers.

Love the colour of mine, after the fact that its a 2 door the colour is the next thing people like about it.
Practical:
-Stays looking cleaner than most other colours,
-really shows off the curves,
-like all silver cars the contrast of the glass work, which looks almost black, stops it looking quite so "blocky".
-doesn't show up any paint swirls like dark colours, although mine doesn't really have any! Hides Stone chips pretty well too.
-Relatively rare as most lease cars were from only a few colours.
-Quite close to the greatest car colour of all time... Porsche GT Silver. :1st:

Exactly. I agree you should buy what you like. We had a silver Mazda 6 and I also agree it hides the dirt better than just about any other colour. The flip side is that you need to pray you never need to paint it as metallic silver has to be the worst colour to match and it's virtually impossible to blend into.

I wasn't all that into white but having had two white Leons I think they look great in it. The only reason we got white was it was 'in' and we knew it would be easy to sell.

Very true. I love the nevada white but the non metallic white is not nice in my opinion.

Dr dash that looks lovely. Any more pics?

@Leather Luxe Design; have you checked out the used cars section on Seat.co.uk website or sites such as AutoTrader?

You can apply filters to your search to restrict the results to just silver mk3 Leons, and there should be some Ice Silver examples amongst them. Probably won’t be too many modified cars though.

Not ice silver, but all of the promotional material had the FL Cupra in urban silver (photo-shopped when copper trim was added in late 2018). Whilst colours are always subjective, the marketing/design departments normally have a colour that they think accentuates the lines of the car best.

For what it’s worth, I think that the contrast with the dark tinted windows on the silver cars looks great, and concur with comments above; it’s one of the easiest colours to maintain.

I originally wanted the urban silver, but was out-voted 1-3 for mystery blue.

I have thank you. I am looking to buy another buy in the spec i want and budget i have only about 10 in the country, 3 or 4 are white, couple grey, couple black, one red and one silver.

The reason for asking is that i will most probably modify with trc splitter and gloss black inserts etc and was wondering if anyone has done this on the silver.

Thanks

Just came across this thread so posting this one here if it helps. It is advertised as Estrella Silver actually but I believe that is possible the same as Ice Silver in uk ? ( This is a German 2017 cupra st 3004drive I am contemplating buying here.
I think it looks great and very rarely see a silver one. Now you have mentioned the black splitter I am thinking this one is actually modded and not standard ? Or could it possibly be part of some black pack as it seems the front seat badge and black Cupra are black along with the roof bars which are often silver.
