Hey guys having a nightmare trying to set the ignition timing up on my ibiza (spec as in title).
Got number 1 cylinder at tdc and fitted the distributor so number one on the dizzy cap is slightly in front of the rotor arm.
Can't find where the timing mark is to set it up through with a timing light
Looked on autodata and it shows there a mark on the flywheel but i can't find one or anything what you set it to on the bell housing (or anywhere else it should be).
Theres a notch on the crankshaft pully but i haven't got the cambelt bottom cover - Is there the markings on that ???? Help required tonight if possible thank you :D

isn't there a cam wheel mark too

mind you that could end up 180 out eeek

- never done an 8v sorry dude

Set the Camshaft to its marker, auxillary cam (dizzy drive) is set at 9 o'clock and the cranks marked up but can't find where the marks are to set up the static engine timing for the ignition

To find the pointer for the flywheel timing mark remove the green bung at the top of your gearbox bellhousing. The pointer is in there as part of the housing. Make sure you use the correct mark on your flywheel.

Problem sorted thanks for your help. Did it another way as the green bung wouldn't come out the box without distroying it. Got cyl 1 to tdc removed distributor and its cap and turned the rotor arm so it was pointing in the middle of the notch on the distributor (under the cap), re-fit dizzy and cap and set firing order 1-3-4-2 starting at 1 where the rotor arm was on and runs great.
