Following on from my other thread, I thought Id post some pics of my new FR Tdi which I picked up today (pretty quick considering 6 days ago I was looking at second-hand ones!)

front.jpg

Impressed so far, although Ive not really had chance to stretch its legs. Stuck in traffic for most of the 60 mile journey home (apart from the odd blip), and averaged 46Mpg - no doubt this will come down when I start to drive it properly ;).

Handling doesent seem too much different from my previous Golf MkV Gti, although the rides a bit stiffer.

Looking forward to getting some more miles on it now!

Awesome, love a new car, no flies or anything stuck to the front lol..

Will be interesting to see what you think of the difference between the FR TDI and the GTI, even though the FR is down 30bhp its way up on torque. I would love if you did a comparison between the two at some stage. I currently have the same FR as you (wheels, colour tdi etc). Always have wanted a GTI though, why did you change?

Looks just like mine! Lovely :)

What extras does it have? I've not got bluetooth and I really regret it now - not that I speek on the phone a lot but I just like the big screen!

Looks very nice mate, love the photography. I know how you feel I am still buzzing after collecting my Cupra on Friday :funk:

Tell me though how did you manage to get your photo in the thread?

Cheers for all the comments, really loving the car.... I was a bit apprehensive as to whether it would tick all the boxes, but it certainly does. In fact it combines both the good points of my previous 2 cars - Golf MkV Gti, and MkIV PD150 Revo'd to 190bhp.

Only extras are the colour, the wheels, and bluetooth (which is great!), it was 16k, the garage had 2 to sell at that price and both sold within hours.

Island Cupra - I just uploades the pic to my webspace and then pointed to it with the image tags i.e. {img] photo location {/img} (but with square brackets).

yeh the black looks nice, i am still learning to drive thru the range to get the best out of my FR, looking at adding some ARB's after a long country drive to Vagfest yesterday.
enjoy it mate, watch the alloys though those P-Zero's dont offer any protection for the alloys.

Whats the performance like compared to the GTI?

Its a bit slower as you'd expect, but no doubt the difference will get smaller as the engine runs in. Id expect in-gear acceleration in the higher gears to be similar.

Keith - Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza, seem to have a small protection rib - might prevent damafe from light brushes with the kerb.. hopefully :D

bridgestone potenza's , good show, i am writing to Seat(sad i know) about the fact they put a bloomin useless tyre on the car when they have the option of using Bridgestones.espec when they charge £213 for a new alloy.
