I've just bought a 58 plate Leon FR DTI 170 in red with 18's, bluetooth, winter pack, convenience pack, 3300 miles on the clock, a service, cupra mirror covers, private plate transfer and a tank of fuel. £14500

I don't remember ever slagging them off.

Just standing up for the petrol turbo peeps on a forum dominated by derv geeks.

You will never see me typing any of the derv catch prases like (dark side) and (derv torque FTW)

Any car with a turbo gets my respect, solvent or oil powered.

I actually wanted a leon FR petrol DSG but could only find one and it was a bit tatty to say the least and had a reverse select fault.

I then went to find an FR petrol that had the right spec,miles and and no stone chips, trolly dings or kerbed wheels and failed.

I went for the TDI as there is a lot more choice and I got one with the options I wanted.

TBH I think the leon 170 goes about the same as my 150 petrol ibiza but the MPG should be a bit better.

BTW the leon 170 is not as good as the ibiza 130 when it comes to MPG, most 170 peps seem to get mid 40's

Sorry to see you going Nath!

My folks had an Altea FR 2.0 170bhp diesel and they got rid of it for a PD130 Ibiza because it was shocking on fuel - we couldn't get it about 42 average no matter how you drove it! The Ibiza will easily see best part of 60mpg. I did drive it too and it didnt seem as good as it should've been, I've heard getting rid of the DPF's help's free them up alot though! I have a 170 turbo if you ever need one.
