Just joined the website and just hoping someone has the answer to my problem

Firstly my Seat Alhambra key as came apart and i have lost the transponder chip

I have purchased a new BLANK transponder chip

The diagnostic guy i called out tried registering the new transponder chip to the car using the 4 digit code out of my service history book but it kept coming back on his diagnostic machine as being the wrong code.

He said to me that either a previous owner as changed the ecu at some point in the past and the 4 digit code as been changed,or they have wrote the wrong number for the immobiliser down in the book.

Question being,How can i get around this problem with the 4 digit code ???

If anyone has had this problem in past could you please contact me because at the moment i have no car to drive my children in for the christmas period:(:(

All answers will be greatly recieved and thank you in advance

You don't want to put the radio code into your key.... that would be the main problem here

You need to find out whether your Immobiliser is II or III (this will determine how easy it is to code)

Hi m0rk thanks for your reply but it is the immobiliser code the guy is putting in and not radio code

But the Immo code won't be written into the service book (normally)

Can he get the code from the car using VAG Tacho or similar?

in the service book previous owner has wrote down a 5 digit key code and a 4 digit immobiliser code, diagnostic guy could'nt get code fron vag tacho screen he had on his laptop:(:(

what is this vagtacho will this be able to get the immobiliser number from ecu for me ????
the guy who came had some kind of software on his laptop vagcom i think it was, is this the same as vagtacho ???

Hi guys.i have a key 7 digit code written on a card.got the car second hand and its an ibiza 1.2 mk4.what code is that. Does have to do with the immobilizer code or something? Any tip would be much appreciated.thanks
