Induction Heat Sheild

iv got an open cone filter, similar to a jabbasort one, really want to keep it as i love the noise. It says in the sticky about induction kits that they reduce maf life and engine life, question is - if i fabricate a heat shield like the jabba sport one, will i find its any better and will it lengthen MAF life and do less harm to the engine?

it will be sheilding the warm air getting to the filter, so in theory, yes

its only the cheap and nasty fillters with huge gaps in the gauze that reduce engine life due to the particles simply passing through it snd not "filltering" at all.

Oiled filters ruin the Maf's.
