Hi all I have had to buy a new infotainment screen from a breakers as mine got damaged. Same part no and it's come from a car of the same year and spec. My question is can the screen unit be switched across, does it need coding and if so will a vag group specialist be able to do it? I am only changing the screen unit on the dash and not the brain in the glove box. Thanks for the help.

It won't work until component protection has been removed. Dunno if your local dealer will do it via GeKo as they can be a bit stuck up about it. Mqb-coding or Alexretrofits on Facebook will be able to tell you if they can do it

Ok thanks. This is turning onto a night mare. May just put an aftermarket system in. The seat one is poor and slow compared to others iv used.

Only aftermarket systems I've seen for mk3 are all android based so possibility of loosing functionality of car settings via touchscreen
