Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum, so please bear with me.

I recently purchased a one-year-old Cupra Leon Mk4 and, unfortunately, I’ve experienced several issues with the interior lighting and infotainment system. On more than one occasion, the infotainment screen has gone completely black and become unresponsive.

I took the car to the dealership under warranty, and they confirmed that they had carried out a hard dealership software update. I collected the car last Friday, but today the issue happened again. The screen was completely black, unresponsive, and holding the power button did not restart the system.

After leaving the car for approximately an hour, I returned and the infotainment system had started working again. I then noticed that another software update was available.

As you can imagine, I’m becoming increasingly frustrated, particularly as the car has already been back to the dealership and supposedly received a software update.

Has anyone else experienced the infotainment screen going completely black on a Cupra Leon Mk4? Is this a known or common software fault, and did a particular update or replacement component finally resolve it?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. I’ll also be contacting the dealership again and asking them to investigate the fault further rather than simply carrying out another update.

I’ve owned two mk 4 Cupra Leon’s and they have suffered from the black screen. I believe the screen is different on the 4.5 and haven’t noticed as many posts complaining of the issue. Following many updates my current Leon has not suffered this particular problem for a long time. An hour does seem excessive and would leave you without lots of functions which would be concerning.

Yeah I've had this on my Born recently too since the latest OTA update a couple of months back. Cupra just advised to "monitor it" as it comes back after about 15-20 mins of the car being off.
