Hey guys.
I wonder if anyone has any knowledge about this, before I go phoning up insurance companies tomorrow.
I'll try and keep it as short as poss:
Currently insured on Hyundai Coupe 3yrs NCB.
If I was to purchase a new car shortly (LCR), got it insured with a new company (greenlight seems the cheapest so far)
and wanted to maintain cover on my coupe until it's sold etc etc, I'm assuming that the quotes I've been getting for the LCR won't be applicable, as they have taken into account the 3yrs NCB I've earnt on the coupe, and if I keep the current cover I've got on my coupe (with elephant) then I can't transfer the NCB over to the LCR. With me so far??
Question. Are greenlight and others (upon me selling the coupe) able to then accept the 3yrs NCB and backdate the refund to the date the policy commenced or do they do this on a pro rata basis?
If they won't backdate, I guess I'll just have to completely cancel the elephant policy on the coupe and transfer it over to greenlight immediately. This leads me to the other question. Will greenlight, or indeed any other companies sort me out with some cheap 3rd party cover for me on the coupe until it's sold on a weekly/monthly basis. Oh and i'll probably have to add my mate onto this in order to get the old car home (he always wanted to drive it!) after picking up said LCR.
I hope that was reasonably clear, and someone is more clued up than me
Thanks for any advice.
