Alright, im coming from the dark side the mk2 side :p
as im coming up to my one years no claims bonus, im thinking of selling the delightful 1.4 for the 1.8T if finances allow.

details when i come to insuring 1 would be :
19
driving 2 years
1 years ncb
low crime rate area

looking to insure it for about 5k miles a year without mods, just to get prices, then add any mods on after that.

does anyone fit that category and how much am i looking to pay, i got a quote off of elephant, TPFT was £900 and FC was £1295 or something, is that good/reasonable/bad.

thanks in advance :)

mate thats not too bad.....

I'm coming up for 21 2yrs ncb....same (roughly) area, 1.8t driving 3.5 years....and im 707....FC with bell.co.uk

Try playing the insurers off each other and you'll prob get it down even further :)

i was 19 with 1 years ncb when i got my standard cupra, 10,000 miles a year fully comp with mum and dad as named drivers, £1063 i think with admiral. I went back and forth a few times between elephant and admiral and managed to wind it down to that.

Try bell, admiral and privilege. They were the 3 lowest for me.

I'm from glasgow, 23 on a mk3 cupra, FC paying £450 with 5 years NCB protected.

I'm with Norwich Union and when I asked about getting a quote with a remap I was told they didn't insure modified cars, even for 31 year old with 5+years NCB!

Norwich Union wouldn't even quote me on a cupra and i've been with them since before I passed my test! I'm still with them on my mk4 and they are ok with the mods I declared (induction kit & wheels) but I have to pay a little more.

cheers guys, seems like if i hold off another year and get a second years ncb i can really hack the price down.
might do that cos by then the price of a cupra too will have gone done (bloody poor stupid excuse  )

im with admiral just now and they dont really like modified cars, at the start i hadnt declared my mods, but grew wise after a month or so and declared them, just not worth it i suppose.

Adrian Flux, 21, 3 years NCB, £660 fuly comp with an additional driver

i'll need to check again but i think Flux quoted me £1200. i'll check the email they sent me.
ive heard they are really good mod wise, u can tell them most things and it doesnt increase the premium until u start working on the engine components?
