intercooler pipes

what material is the best for ic pipes (aluminum, stainless steel, ...)
i am worried about the heat from exhaust manifold if i put them like this:

or is there any other material or coating (paint, ceramic, ...)

Ali pipe is ok on intercooler set up. Thats what i am using re routed charge pipe around the back of rocker cover, down the side and then down the wing no problems at all

which material did you use for the pipes??
