Might be being thick, but can you fit a water spray onto a diesel intercooler? Have noticed that with the warmer weather the power delivery is less brutal than when it was frosty, so would like to have it all year round.

You may want to check your intake temps before fitting a kit. As Peter says it doesn't matter if it's a TDi or a petrol as the water is sprayed in a very fine mist it absorbers heat as it evaporates this latent heat lowers charge temperatures. You can get kits to spray various other liquids over the inter cooler (like Nitrous oxide or CO2) they have a higher latent heat and a much lower temperature so lower the intake temps even more but they are expensive to fill. Adding methanol to the water is a cheaper option. The systems are good for short sprints but you will start to run dry quite quickly on longer runs.

my old SMIC used to hit 90+ degrees in summer,

so i fitted a Forge FMIC and the temps were always around 40 degrees

Job done.
