Been out again in it today and now the excitement worn off and with the stereo on at normal levels the ITG is unnoticeable. Obviously when you give it a bit of beans and change gear you hear the whooosh but have to say I don't find it intrusive at all, now used to it.

I suspect an aftermarket DV may make this a little louder.

Now to think of next mod

Probably stick with getting some decent rubber first before considering anything else. Also price for other plan mods is not exactly bargain basement, down pipe / THS intercooler / HPFP

Well I am between two approaches right now;

1. Blue Flame exhaust system (some good deals on these at the moment). Possibly do in stages, DP first then Back box
2. Sort the handling - Vredstein Sessanta Tyres, Engine mounts, ARBs, WALK

My tyres are quite poor at the moment, still running different makes on front and rear as when I bought the car. Budget 'ditch-finders' as I like to call them!

I am reluctant at the moment to do anymore performance enhancing mods until I know that any extra power will be transferred to the road rather than lost through wheel spin/hop etc so handling may well be my next step

Finally Camskill got them back in!

4 new Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres, can't wait to get them on and see how much improvement over the ditchfinder 'budget' tyres currently on.

4 wheel alignment a must as well but may wait until done a few mounts/bushes and spring before putting the new tyres on and setting car up properly

Just back from Monster Motorsport. Thanks again guys for your great customer service

Had car on the rollers again today to test the benefits of ITG;

From early thread you will see original after stage 1 it pulled 272bhp afw (was running a mix of normal and vpower fuel at time)

Now running 300bhp afw max with ITG Induction kit (totally vpower now) and a 'tweak' to the revo map

So as a rule of thumb I would expect those with Stage 1 as standard and then fitting an ITG kit to get iro 25-30bhp increase from induction kit alone

Handling rather than power next for me. Once the current power is 'useable' will look to move up to stage 2

The two Stage 1 REVO MK2 LC I've seen both pulled 290 ish BHP and both full time V Power users, so perhaps the ITG is giving you more power but perhaps only 10 BHP, which is still good for just an induction change

Fri 7th May

Not a performance upgrade but have been toying with the idea of doing this since fitting the ITG.

On the K1 the ITG filter element (in its enclosure) doesn't seem to get much air. The only air entering that enclosure is via the side vent low down in the engine bay. So I have decided to 'vent' this directly at the filter cone to hopefully maximise the air intake.

Flexible Hose

I purchased 2M of 40mm Revotec flexible air intake hose (having fitted it now 1M would have been more than sufficient).

I chose 40mm as anything bigger would be difficult to attach to the back of the vents.

I used 2 lengths each 40cm long

Inside Engine bay after fitting

Picture collage shows side vent removed (simply remove the 3 screws holding it in and it pops out) and the 2 hoses coming into the engine bay and the final picture with the filter back on.

The two hoses fit snug in the enclosure and therefore did not need to secure them with cable ties or tape but you can do this if you wish

Side Vent (Market with an 'x' where the hoses have been connected with cable ties)

'X' marks the position where I attached the two hoses with cable ties to the side vent. If you look at the top picture you will see that there is essentially 3 places on the vent where you can connect a hose (top/middle/bottom). The bottom section would be difficult to use unless you had smaller pipework as the 40mm will not fit easily between the side vent screw fixings.

Hope this helps if anyone decides to do likewise

I would say it helps getting the air to the turbo better as very restrictive in the current enclosure, particularly the K1. Seems to give better delivery

I wouldn't say it's a massive difference though. Also since I have dented the cone filter element by over-tightening the fixing when I first installed the ITG i'm not convinced I have a perfect seal now so maybe I am experiencing a little bit of reduction in performance. i'll need to put a new element on to be totally sure!

But considering a cheap mod I would suggest well worth doing £20 or so for the pipework and a few cable ties and 30-45 mins of your time.

Also I did drill a couple of small holes in the side vents to make additional fixings for the cable ties but you can not notice them

She's coming along nicely, good choice on the tires. I've heard nothing but good things about these tires.

Just in time as well as you're going to need it with the extra poke. These engines are sooo tunable, thats some very impressive power for not a lot of wedge.
