I find that if it sits on the right of the mat (UK spec) then it charges but go around a right hand corner then it moved to the left of the mat then it stops. Mine also gets really hot and super laggy - 12 Pro.
I found a crude solution for this. If you work in an office (or go to a shop lol), you can get a standard size stationary eraser and just keep it on the mat. The eraser and iPhone 13 fit together within the grooves of the mat like a glove, and you can then keep the iPhone pinned to the right.
I personally find that having camera side toward the bottom gives the best results, however I still get a problem with overheating so not ideal for long journeys.

hope it helps though

Hi everyone, I have the same issue on my Formentor with iphone 13 pro overheating like hell `till the battery warning comes on and interruption of the charging if it slides just a bit (basically at every turn). I went to the dealer and they had the answer prepared - it`s the phone`s fault so change your phone `coz VAG doesn`t have a way of fixing it, it`s a compatibility issue (we tested a samsung and that one works just fine....). So if you have iphone 12 onwards, skip the 200 EUR "connectivity" box option and just go for a magsafe vent mount instead. Not cool Cupra, not cool! Luckily it`s a damn fine car otherwise..

Not just a Cupra issue - wireless charging in VW’s also causes phones to overheat. Other car brands seem to be similarly affected too.

Luckily I’ve not had any issues if I keep the phone to the right of the guides and phone is placed camera first with lighting charger facing out.

I’ve got a thin Apple leather case on which is quite grippy so doesn’t move around to much.
