Hi,

I have an Ipod Nano 7th gen and cannot for the life of me get this to connect to my media system with bluetooth - and with it being a lightning adapter i cannot connect it straight to the glovebox input - any idea how to get the bluetooth working or what cable would i need to get to connect this up?

Thanks

Hi I just set the car to scan and then stayed on the bluetooth connection screen of the ipod to ok it.

It works well with a lightning afaptor but you need a new cable to pull the album art etc.

Must be a problem with the Nano as it just stays scanning never finds the car

i turn it to visible and then when i get out and come back in the Bluetooth of the car has set itself back to hidden is that right?

The bluetooth in the car is only set to visible for the first 90 s or so after its turned on. That said, once its paired it should stay paired.

No luck with pairing it to the Nano they just cant see each other i know the nano is only a2dp wonder if that is the issue as i also have my phone connected?

either way i am just going to get a lightning to 30 pin adapter that should sort everything

Any idea where to get the red cable to allow album art?

Is that the one that provides video play through the infotainment system?

Yes Madduffyx that's right, plays videos from your itunes library for compatible devices on the media screen whilst the car is stationery (you can unlock this with vcds so works even when moving).

I use my wife's old iPhone 4 as an ipod and video playback works but I bought the cable predominantly for album artwork for the music though but video playback is a nice additional feature to have if I'm sat around waiting for people :)

Cheers AJ,

Very tempted to get one! Any idea what changing to coding you need to make to unlock it via the VCD's? I've got the cable but only made a few changes to the car so far.

I haven't done this myself but remember seeing it as an option on the German VCDS mods site. I have pasted the link to it below:

But having just read it in more detail it seems that you cannot enable it using VCDS afterall but need to use a different system called VCP.

Sorry about that, I assumed as it was there it was done by vcds.
