Hello I have a Leon 2.0 TDI and I was just wondering how I go about connecting my ipod to the stereo, and what I have to get. I can see the AUX but not sure what to do with it.

Thanks

Mark

if you have aux in you just need a male to male 3.5mm jack lead to plug from the ipod headphone socket into aux in. This will allow you to play your ipod through your car, but it's controlled via the ipod.

Alternatively if your stereo does it you can probably get a special lead to enable you plug in via the dock connector giving you controls through the steroe. However, if it's a standard radio i'd suggest this is probably impossible.

Next stop is just buying a new radio, i know the Alpine IAX300 works, as my friend just got one in his alfa, looks nice and works with ipod and iphone... doesn't charge the iphone tho. It's also blue tooth ready so if you buy an extra 'box' for it you can take calls on your iphone via the stereo.

hope that makes sense.. basically you can do it now, but it's not an integrated system and to go intergrated, it's likely that a new stereo will be required.

I did have that lead, It was out of my Megane nut the sound quality was terrible, had to the volume up really load just to hear it slightly. Any suggestions has to why or do I need the propper Seat lead.

Depending on what ipod you have the headphone output could be low. I got a adapter in tesco, think it's a belkin one, that goes in the cigarette lighter socket and had a 3.5mm output and plugs into the ipod's dock connector. You get much better sound quality because it bypasses the headphone amp. For info i have a 80gb ipod classic.

I have a male to male jack in my car via the aux port
and thers nothing wrong with the quality at all, I've run my n95 via it for hands free.
I've used an Iphone and an Ipod touch and a ipod classic

All sound fine and I like my music very...very loud.
