Been looking a getting my lcr remapped got the forge dv valve and was going to get a new forge intake hose b4 I had it remapped is it worth it I know people say the standard ones suck in but do they really or is it a bit of a mif

if your reffering to the turbo intake pipe then yes its worth changing. its not that it collapses or anything more that its a bottleneck. if getting one tho i would recommend the badger5 one as this has a billet adapter and takes it from 80mm maf end to 80mm turbo end. you could see a extra 10-20bhp from just the tip alone.

But people have had problems getting it to fit properly. I'm gonna go sfs for the tip heard nothing but good things about it.

if your struggling to fit it then your doing something wrong. from what i have read about the badger5 tip it sounds fantastic. but if the fitting issue is a worry then go for sfs as i would say thats the next best thing. either way upgrade the thing cos come re-map time its worth it.

the billet 80mm TIP can and does add significant power.. more for remapped cars as gains will be proportional to airflow (boost)

2nd to none in performance gains for an intake.. 80mm TIP will realise more airflow

With combined filter + TIP we have seen many times ~15-20bhp bolt on gains from remapped cars

I was about to start a similar thread, so ill ask here if its ok to save doing so?

Ive got a stage one mapped cupra 180, running 210 bhp but going back in for custom map now ive fitted decat/3inch downpipe and cobra decat back resonated system, pipercross panel filter and dv006 d/v, is it worth me fitting one of these hoses before i get the custom map or is there not much point?

I'd also like to know this as I am running similar mods on a custom stage 2 map however still running the standard TIP.

i would upgrade it

yes upgrade it as the standard tip although will max the ko3s airflow capabilities its just a smoother delivery rather than the slight pancake in the original pipe. it may only be a few extra bhp and torque but at least its done for peace of mind aswell as a tiny bit extra in performance. some have said it helps improve throttle response which does sound logical.
as for original post about the lcr i would be fitting a badger5 without considering the opposition. i mean 80mm-80mm or would you rather 80mm-40mm  seems a no brainer to me. im not sure exactly what size the ko4 intake size is but it looks double the size to me.

i already have a pipecross viper kit on it so which turbo intake pipe is the best one to get i cant a badge5 onr any where

no they aint cheap but £££ to bhp they are worth it. shame they dont have the same effect on the ko3s turbo as i would have got 1. someone has built a custom 1 for a ko3s but i cant really see it making much a difference if any.
considering a good stage 2 map will cost around £300 a extra few quid on the best intake pipe is worth it. considering that a forge cooler can cost £600+

Im just going to put a new turbo on mine and get it custom mapped, quick enough for me for what it is, just over fuelling, needs lambda adjusting and the map on it is interesting to say the least, hence there gonna wipe that map off and do a custom one to suit the mods (revo) i think ill get around 220 - 225 from it, its 210 at the mo and thats with dogshit map, bank 1 lambda miles out and overfuelling.

well you have done the biggest restriction and thats downpipe with de-cat and you have a good exhaust system so i would say with a new healthier turbo you should be knocking on the door of 240bhp the talk about the sidemount restrictions only really matter on the hot sunny days. just make sure you run a few tanks on good fuel befor mapping and try sticking to it and 240bhp is achievable. maybe a little more if your really lucky.
im hoping to get mine mapped in the next few weeks.

I thought 240 - 250 was the max, and for that a front mount and TIP was needed?

Ive got

Forge DV006 d/v
Pipercross Panel Filter
Toyosports 3" Downpipe/Decat
Cobra Cat back resonated system with no baffle backbox
N249 removed

apparently a front mount is not essential. id give revo a ring befor you book it in and see what they say. revo said to me to fit a frontmount as it helps but then another mapper may have a better way or better understanding of the stock intercooler to get it to 240bhp
as for the tip with these cars being around 10 years old (12 for mine) then they do perish but the standard tip will max the ko3s. i just done it for peace of mind as id be annoyed if i got it mapped without it and they say "well if you had a tip" id get an extra 5bhp or whatever lol but its not the case. i just really ended up buying it to colourcode my engine bay blue.

lol i might drill the bottom tray of my airbox furthest end away from the engine, see if that helps it breathe better. :)

have you got a uprated panal filter?? kn or pipercross ect??? as a good panal filter will help a little when you get it mapped. what you could do is drill a big enough hole to run a cold feed from the bumper but there is mixed reviews about the coldness of air getting into the intake. i however have a cold air induction where the airfilter is in the wing and you can see the tip of the filter through the fog mesh so i get a direct cold feed. apparently this is supposed to give a few extra bhp but who knows??
