I went shopping yesterday and fell in love with a 54 plate Mk 4 Ibiza FR 130 Tdi.
Took it for a test drive and well, now i want it, obviously from having a 1.2 for the past 18 months the difference in power was very noticeable.

What i want to know is that at 50163 miles and at a price of £5791 is it worth it or should i be looking for it to be a bit cheaper?

Also as a trade in the offered me £2500 for my 04 Ibiza 1.2 with 42000, would i be better selling it privately?

£2500 is that it!!! id have a look on autotrader mate, that seems pretty low for an o4 plate!

also whens the next service due, is it cambelt etc? like on my cupra its at 60k and its an expensive service! could be quite costly... possible haggling opportunity :)

The cambelt and waterpump should be done at 4 years or 60k. So being a 54, it might be overdue if it hasn't already been done.

I bought a 1.9 tdi 130 sport 04 plate with around 60K in april 2008 for £6500...Part of my deal was a cambelt change too and also they gave me around £4k for my corolla t sport. I've noticed how much prices have come down recently...probably why they're offering u £2500 for yours, i think the price they want for the 130 is unrealistic...dealers havent quite realised yet that there is a recession i think! I managed to get about £1500 more off them then they first quoted me for my corolla and i got about £500 off the price they wanted for the ibiza. I also got them to chip in the cambelt, mats and 1 years tax and service...Then on the day i went to sign i got them to knock another £100 off...If you really hammer them on price and prove you're interested (I put down £100 refundable deposit before test driving the 2nd time) they will give u a good deal! More so at the moment coz times are hard!

The 1.9 TDI would be a big step up from the 1.2

I have exactly the same model myself and still love it to bits, great with a remap.

As has been said the water pump and cam belt will be due at 60k, it really is worth haggling more! Especially as they have offered soo little for your existing car.

I went from a 1.25 to the my 54' 130 and still love it! mine has only done 38,000 but that is not that common so 50k is pretty good I think but as said find out about the cambelt just cost me £400 to get that done but had to be done!
