The only way that would be possible is if the rev limiter was raised so you have a little more reach in each gear. If not, as Eternal Rage says, if a red line at 6k revs give 58mph in 2nd gear, it doesn't matter if you have 100 or 1000bhp, you won't go any faster than 58mph in second gear. Simply not possible.

Speedo

I find my sat nav and road angel BOTH report 4 to 5 mph LESS than the speedo reads.

Even when I had new tyres (more radius could have reduced the differential in readings) it made little difference.

As most people say on here, the speedo cannot be trusted.

Why else do you whizz past gatso's at '80 mph' on an A road without them going off?!

My friends Passat reads high as well, but only by about 3 mph. All cars are different but all are set to show more speed than actual, because the alternative is to risk drivers speeding without knowing it - which is dangerous.

I remember a post by Revo Kev some time ago that said Revo did not raise the limiter.

mine is revo'd and i don't think that u get to 60mph more quickly i think it just hold the boost better.
but that just might be me lol
but i would say ya car is pretty much standard
@CupraUK really think u should keep a bit more petrol in ya tank mate and turn of the tc lol

Ha ha, yes it was running on fumes this morning! Wasn't trying for a fast 0-60, just wanted to see where it was at the top of 2nd. Would normally have the tc off.

Everybody keeps banging on about the speedo over reading etc.......speedo's are calibrated and having them 5 mph out at low speeds is untrue. If I drive towards one of those radar things that display your MPH i can go so my speedo says 60mph and the display on the roadside said 59mph............!!!
So given this, I dont think the speedo would be 5 mph out untill you got near 100mph...........I might be wrong, but just a thought !!!

strange on my ibiza it did, limiter was at about 6.9k before, after revo was done it reved to near 7.2k

It would explain a lot if the limiter is raised a bit, although I did not expect it to be as close to 60 before I did the tests, I'm convinced I am breaking 60 in 2nd but its not by as much as I thought.

2nd gear i can easly does 60 when it hits the red line.
If i let it red line it does abot 65-69,
