Is there a cure for pongy air con?

I turn on the air con and get a pongy whiff for a few mins, is there a cure?

works well with a 'strong' apple smell and takes a while but there are similar about

another thing i was told when bought car is once in a while, (fortnightly), to run 10mins full heat and then 10mins full cold to make it work and help stop build up of bacteria in pipework.

I bought a Forte can on ebay a few months ago and it sorted out the stink. Go Forte!

I did the hot then cold then used one from Halfords and that worked for me.

Forgot to say just check theres no water getting into the system where it shouldnt or you have gunk in the engine bay.
