Is there a way to find out if car has previous remap?

Maybe a silly question but Wondered if there a way to find out if car has previously been remapped?

Mine seems to be quicker than others iv been in , I hadn't got any evidence from previous owner that it's been done?
As it was bought from a garage and they didn't say about it!

It's had previous work done!

3" cobra exhaust system
N249 bypass
Slightly lowered
Honey comb grill

I wander if it was owned by someone on here previously?

What's the reg? Model?
1.8t me7.3 ECU has a flash counter so could maybe find out that way. Person how mapped mine said counter said zero and should be one from factory so a hint there it had been mapped before

I'd get it on a rolling road so you can get a printout. Even if it's been remapped you don't know if it's a decent one.

If you have a boost gauge fitted or can read live data with your new scanner, then you can look at how much boost it's requesting.

As said above, if it has a 3" downpipe then it's almost definitely going to be mapped.
