^^^^ maybe, i havent driven it properly yet so i dont know what its like... cant do so either till the 8th :(

i can get trade on oil, Comma brand which i didnt think was so bad for 10 pounds 5ltrs, think its semi synthetic, but ive been told fully synth may damage my engine? i can get trade at halfords too, cos im an engineering student ;) :) so filters and stuff come very cheap... you can buy a pack of bulbs in halfords for 2.60 pounds... with trade it comes to 40p :)

my pound sign doesnt work on the keyboard by the way, thats why i keep having to type it

fully synth won't hurt it at all. Will have to remember what weight I put into mine last time as it's been static in my ABF for a while.

once warm, give it some beans - and once you're familiar with it it's so much fun at >4000rpm in 3rd, 4th & 5th.

When I have changed my oil, I put in some of the comma Eurolite 10w-40 semi synthetic (was recomended my EuroCarParts). And she is running smooth.

Your gona love you valver. B roads + GTI 16v - traffic = A grin on your face from year to ear :D

Welcome to 16v ownership, it looks very tidy apart from the alloys which aren't really my cup of tea. As said once you go past 4000rpm a mixture of pleasure and fear go through you, pleasure at being pushed back into your seat and fear because that corner that was a mile away isnt anymore! (and even more fear when you glance at the fuel guage, still its worth it)

Mines got to go soon as I need a diesel because of change of job. Shame really, good, underated cars, its served me well.

Covered over 1000 miles in it this weekend and averaged 36.9mpg.

I'm looking forward to the new year - I think once you have got some trust in the valver & learnt to keep it on the go you'll probably realise it's more fun than the 1.8T (albeit marginally slower)

Id agree with you there i found my Valver more fun to drive so much grunt and NO turbo lag :censored: But i think my comments will proberly change after sunday as im booked in for my map. So she should be behaving a whole lot differant! :D

Don't get me wrong - a remapped 1.8T is faster & still fun, just not as rewarding
