How the hell do you get them back on so they fit flush and tight ? Had front one off this afternoon and spent about an hour trying to get it back on flush but it just stands proud about 2mm on the bottom edge as it curves round under the car and you can knock it off again with very little effort.

I inserted the top edge onto the guide slot first, then located the side clips into their locators, and the centre lug into the slot on the side skirt under the sill - but it doesn't stay in or lock into place at all.

I've hit it, levered it, kicked it, punched it, threatened it, shouted at it and swore at it. All I have is a bruised palm, scuffed knuckle and a bad mood!

Seems I've been doing it right though. I'll go and shout at it louder and with more authority.

when i had trouble with them i just put a little bit of vasaline on the lugs and they went in no problem.

dont take them off put the jake under the cill and jake it up as normal thats what i've been doing;)

I think that one of the secrets is to clean them once they are off. They get full of mud which makes them harder to get back on. Clean both the cover and the sill with some water and a stiff brush and then I find they go on with no problem. Position the outside edge of the cover, then hit the inside edge upwards with the palm of the hand.

Doing the above they have always gone back on with no trouble.

haha had the same trouble few weeks ago, took me bout an hour gave up came back to it later and gave it a good old smack an it when on lol

Did all that cleaning stuff and still refused to click in so I removed the screw inside the front wheel arch and the one under that car about 18" along so I could get my fingers behind the skirt to pull it down and it went straight in. Dead simple............

I will try the greasing it up thing as the other one is only clicked in fully on one side so I'll try that tomorrow when I can see!

Cheers for the suggestions chaps!

fed up writting this.. but..

when you push it up aginst the skirt the skirt flexes so all you are doing is pushing/banging against the underside of the car,

instead:

clear off all dirt / crap.

put the top clips in, then get fingers or something else between the skirt and underside of the car so that the skirt is held away from the chassis. Then push the cover into the slots, (or squeeze between fingers and palm.. goes in easily.

After using the old method of hammering it home with my hand for 30 mins and swearing a lot, I followed the instructions above (I used a flat head screwdriver instead of my fingers and after a couple of wacks with my hand the cover was secure!

Basically, what I did but cleaning didn't do it, and to get my fat digits behind it I took a couple of screws out!

We live and learn eh!

I tried & tried and gave up.....ended up using no nails sticky stuff.....if I need to get one off I'll break it off as they're only £6 each....I know, I lost one :censored:

The only problem with Leon's I've found (so far)

Crazy! I just had my tyres changed and whoever took the panel off didnt put it back on properly and came off when i was doing about 85mph down the motorway, i went back and it just needed a good push, its now on securely now but its got scratches all over it :(.

So will be looking for a new one
