Jacking Points

Where exactly is is safe to lift the car with a jack? The manual gives a vague couple of arrows indicating where the points are, but there really is nothing obvious underneath behind the front wheels and ahead of the rear wheels.

Would you just use the thin vertical 'upstand' that runs the length of the car underneath the sill? I really can't be sure! - and by the way, neither was my local SEAT dealer!

Thanks.

Erwin maintenance manual, thats what it says.

Erwin is good value for money... gave a link on the thread, you buy online time. Can download all the PDFs, SSP, and your car's build codes. Allow about 1 - 2 hours to get all the stuff. Usefull also to check the build codes if buying a car and know the VIN, resolves any questions. Used that on one of the Seat car supermarket offers to identify what it was, when it was built etc. Had the manuals and everything before picking up the car :).

Like having a Haynes manual which use to be the must have thing :).

Thread necromancy - does Erwin have anything to say about safe locations for axle stands? I’m happy to work with a scissor jack for a wheel swap, but for anything else - in this instance fitting mud flaps - I’d much prefer a more stable additional support.

The excellent PDF manuals are available for a snip of 7 Euros + VAT and it saves me looking through hundreds of pages.

If you plan your activity and have a clear head you can downloads the PDFs, the build codes of your car and the training manuals all within in a one hour time period. Failing that the price doubles to two hours. Buy the time in advance.
