having the same problem. vag com said cly misfire, so wiped it and its was fine for a month. now its back!!!!!! but also the turbo is not winding up to full bar? would this be the same thing or do you think it could be a split hose?

if its a faulty maf i believe unpluggin it will show if its that, i have the same prob on my LCR atm. Its driving fine under certain revs, once full boost itjudders. its either a boost pipe / MAF or the coil packs. gonna go run vag com on it now, and if it says its a mis fire then atleast i can be fairly sure its not maf.

its a pain in the ass. this will be the 5th maf if its that! how come they keep going? it cant be the induction kit as ive even swaped it to standard on a new maf and it still goes! really starting to fall out with the car.

the joys of the 1.8T my friend... infact, just turbo cars in general...
Every car has their issue (or issues!)...
Be it flimsy turbos, chocolate gear boxes, paper clutches or handling like a barge. You never get the whole lot. Even the porsche 996 has its line of issues as ive been finding out while do some research. lol

iv got a replacement coilpack, how do i knw which one to replace :-o

AS your stood in front of the car looking at the engine, the one closest to the drivers side is cylinder 1,then 2,3 and 4 is closest to the passenger side (on a right hand drive).

AA came out and agreed it will be a coil pack, he reset the faults and i took it round the block for a spin, then rechecked for faults and it just came up with cylinder 3 misfire, so think i'm going to put a full set of genuine coil packs on( quoted £29 each inc vat, minus my 10% discount from dealers ) and a set of new plugs, approx £44 for set from stealers, but £24 for same set from local auto spares, i have been offered a set of coil packs for £30 off a lcr than is wrote off and being broken but not sure whether to bother???
